Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has stated that Nigerians must accept and coexist with Fulani herdsmen, asserting that they are a permanent part of the nation’s fabric. In a video shared on X, the Islamic scholar emphasized that neither herdsmen nor other citizens can displace one another, and they should be viewed as neighbors rather than adversaries. Gumi warned that treating herdsmen as enemies would be disastrous for the country, as external threats could exploit their local knowledge to undermine national security. He concluded by urging the public to maintain peaceful relations to prevent neighbors from being used as tools for conflict.
