Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle’s salary has been covered by the National Sports Commission (NSC), according to its chairman. Recently, it was alleged that the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, owed Chelle three months’ salary. Dikko, however, charged that the sports media was spreading untrue information about Chelle’s unpaid salary backlog. He claims that paying Chelle’s salaries is a component of NSC’s assistance to the NFF. Despite not being a party to the contract, the NSC has been covering Eric Chelle’s salaries on behalf of the NFF. On the breakfast show Day Break on Arise Television, Dikko stated, “This is part of our support to the NFF.” In January 2025, Chelle was named head coach of the Super Eagles.
