Usman Maidubji, the captain of Barau FC, has expressed happiness with his team’s triumph over Bichi First FC in the Kano State Federation Cup final.
In a fiercely contested match at Sani Abacha Stadium on Monday, the Maliya Boys defeated Bichi First 3-2.
For the first time in their history, Barau FC emerged victorious.
Maidubji praised his colleagues for their bravery and perseverance during the match.
Maidubji informed the club’s reporters, “We are very happy to win this trophy for the first time.”
“We remained courageous and patient, and when the time came, we seized it.”
Kano State will be represented in the 2026 President Federation Cup by Barau FC and runners-up Bichi First FC.
