Students studying radiography at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM) have protested because their graduation and career advancement are in jeopardy due to a worsening academic crisis.
The students claim that their future is uncertain because of the program’s lack of accreditation and the acute absence of lecturers, which has caused important exams to stall.
Under its College of Health Sciences, the organization—formerly known as Benue State University—offers a radiography program.
The Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) has not yet granted the program accreditation, which raises questions about its academic standing.
According to students, there are currently just two important academic staff members in the department: the Head of Department and an Examination Officer who oversee core courses at various levels.
Students in the 300–500 level who are qualified for the First Professional Examination have therefore not been evaluated.
Due to their inability to finish necessary professional tests, final-year students are the most severely impacted, delaying their graduation and entry into the job.
Students who are protesting claim that they have looked into internal channels for resolution but have not been successful.
They are now urging the media, government officials, and regulatory agencies to step in immediately.
Long-term delays, according to some students, could irreversibly alter their professional prospects.
The circumstance calls into doubt institutional preparedness and regulatory supervision. Although stakeholders have not yet responded formally, pressure is growing for prompt action to protect impacted students’ academic prospects.
