In Borno State, troops from Operation HADIN KAI successfully neutralized a terrorist leader, his cameraman, and several other insurgents during an attempted infiltration of a military base in Bitta. According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the encounter occurred early Thursday morning when advanced surveillance detected the group advancing from the Mandara Mountains. The military engaged the attackers within close range before utilizing air strikes to target those attempting to flee. Subsequent searches of the area revealed numerous casualties and led to the recovery of high-grade weaponry, including AK-47 rifles, machine guns, ammunition, communication devices, and recording equipment. Despite the intensity of the clash, the military reported high morale among the troops as they continue operations to secure the region.
