Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, has avoided a FIFA ban ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The 40-year-old will be able to participate in the tournament’s first match the following year. After receiving a red card during a qualification match against the Republic of Ireland, Ronaldo began to fear suspension. The Al Nassr forward was sent off after elbowing Dara O’Shea; typically, violent behavior carries a three-match suspension.However, Ronaldo was suspended for a year from the second and third games. The fact that it was his first red card in 226 international appearances was taken into consideration, according to BBC Sport. Ronaldo will not miss any games in the US next summer after missing the match against Armenia on November 16.According to a FIFA statement, “the suspension outlined in the disciplinary decision shall be deemed automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately if Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period.”
