The Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice has begun the process of getting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s approval to execute Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, the man convicted of murdering the female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.
According to the Attorney-General, Barr. Danladi Isaac, the execution request was initiated because Ajayi did not file an appeal within the 90-day window following his death sentence by a State High Court in Lafia on June 26, 2025.Because the appeal deadline has passed, the Ministry of Justice has officially begun the legal steps necessary to get Governor Sule’s final signature to carry out the execution, as mandated by the constitution. The Attorney-General confirmed that the case, which involved the murder of a corps member and prompted national outrage and demands for justice, will now proceed toward the final sentence.
