The scholarship program at Broadoaks School is aimed at athletes.

With the introduction of a new scholarship program that honors achievement in football, swimming, and athletics in addition to academics and the creative arts, Broadoaks British School has stepped up its efforts to develop young athletes.

The project, according to the Cambridge-accredited international school in Abuja, is intended to find and assist gifted pupils who can succeed in the classroom and on the field.

The 2026 Scholarship Program, which offers both Academic Scholarships and Specialist Scholarships in Sport, Music, and Art, gives talented children the chance to receive a top-notch education while honing their creative, musical, and athletic skills in a controlled setting.

The school’s campus in Maitama, Abuja, will host the Scholarship Assessment Day on May 16.

According to Dr. Jill Cowie, head of school, the program embodies the school’s overarching goal of developing well-rounded pupils via a balanced approach to academics and extracurricular activities.

“At Broadoaks, we think education should go beyond test scores. While we place a high value on academic standards, we are also dedicated to helping students become well-rounded individuals who exhibit kindness, resiliency, leadership, and a clear sense of purpose. “This scholarship program enables us to invest in the future of exceptional young people and recognize excellence in all its forms,” she stated.

The school states that as part of the selection process, applicants under the sports scholarship category will take standardized tests in swimming, football, and athletics.

In order to ensure that pupils compete and develop outside of the classroom, Broadoaks stated that it has continued to engage in athletics and extracurricular activities.

In order to help successful students strike a balance between academics and athletic performance, the school claimed that they would benefit from leadership opportunities, mentorship, and individualized support.

The program offers intellectual, music, and visual arts scholarships in addition to sports scholarships. Additionally, means-tested prizes have been added to help students from underprivileged backgrounds.
