Information about the death of the late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has surfaced.
This occurs just hours after some of Alex’s fans and colleagues in the industry were rudely shocked to learn of his passing.
In response to enquiries from the public regarding the unexpected death of the deceased, Nollywood director Stanley Ontop disclosed that Alex Ekubo had been fighting stage 4 liver cancer in secret since 2024.
Stanley revealed that Alex had a liver transplant in a now-trending post on his Instagram page on Tuesday night. He said that “complications arose after the liver failed again, and his condition deteriorated until his passing.”
Stanley Ontop, a close friend of Alex, wrote: “We request that everyone allow Alex to rest in peace and respect the privacy of his family during this difficult time,” urging the public to refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated claims regarding the cause of the actor’s illness.
In 2024, Alex received a stage 4 liver cancer diagnosis. He briefly went back to work after receiving treatment and a liver transplant. Sadly, the liver failed once more, complications developed, and his condition worsened until his death. His body has been placed in the mortuary. “May his soul rest in peace,” he uttered.
