David Umahi, the minister of works, has disparaged the Labour Party and the “Obidient,” or followers of Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential contender.
According to Naija News, Umahi said this Friday during the Ministerial Press Briefing in Abuja while summarizing the performance of his ministry.
Umahi concluded his presentation by thanking and praising his Ministry of Works colleagues, adding that he does not wish to join the Labour Party or be disobedient because of their extreme insubordination.
“I want to commend my Minister of State, Works, and I don’t want to be disobedient or a member of the Labour Party that is very disobedient,” he remarked. All of the directors and my permanent secretary. However, Mr. President deserves more praise.
Umahi praised Tinubu earlier in his presentation for starting the Sokoto-Badagry road project, which he said was an idea that former President Shehu Shagari came up with 47 years ago.
“The Sokoto-Badagry is the good news,” he remarked. About 47 years ago, the Shagari regime had this ambition. Additionally, a very detribalized president ordered us to modify it from Badagry-Sokoto to Sokoto-Badagry.
Umahi said only a man with great courage and the power of dreams could engage in such a project.
The former Governor of Ebonyi further praised Tinubu for his performance since he assumed office in May 2023.
“Our GDP is growing. Inflation is coming down. Our foreign exchange is impacted positively. The World Bank says we are not owing them again. Let’s put our hands together for Mister President, the man of uncommon courage,” he said.
