Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, has stated that the president cannot be defeated in 2027 by a combination of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s presidential ticket.
According to Onanuga, the alliance is not viewed as a danger by the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress, or APC.
He made this revelation during his appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television on Thursday.
Onanuga claims that they are acting prematurely and that the moment for their politicking is not yet right.
“We didn’t approach it the way they are; our 2013 alliance or merger wasn’t as straightforward as these individuals portray it.
“The ruling government was not particularly distracted by it, but the way they are acting makes it seem if INEC has signaled the beginning of party politics, which is untrue.
Because this is a free nation where people can unite to establish various alliances, they are free.
However, from the APC’s perspective, the coalition poses no threat.
“It will be impossible for Peter Obi and Atiku to defeat a Bola Tinubu and Shettima ticket, even if they combine their talents.”
