Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President, has urged African nations to work together and collaborate regionally in the development of Africa’s sovereign wealth.
On Monday, in Abuja, the president charged when he inaugurated the 4th Annual Meeting of the Africa Sovereign Investors Forum (ASIF), organized by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).
Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, emphasized that the forum’s meeting themed “Leveraging African Sovereign Wealth Funds to Mobilise Global Capital for Transformative Development in Africa” was occurring during a period of rapid global transformation and intense pressure to think innovatively.
He stated, “Our future is rooted in regional cooperation and collective ambition, not in working in silos. It is essential that our sovereign wealth funds serve as the foundational elements of pan-African investment platforms designed to mitigate project risks, establish standardized procedures, and produce large-scale sustainable results. This goes beyond a strategy. This is essential.
