The leading scorer at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON, in Morocco is Algeria’s captain, Riyad Mahrez. This follows Algeria’s 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso on Sunday, in which the former Manchester City winger scored the lone goal. The 34-year-old former Leicester City player has scored three goals in the campaign thus far. Lookman Ademola of Nigeria, Elias Achouri of Tunisia, and Nicolas Jackson of Senegal are among the players below Mahrez on the goal scorers leaderboard. AFCON leading scorers ahead of this week’s final Group stage matches, which are scheduled for Monday through Wednesday:Riyad Mahrez scored three goals.
