After agreeing to sign Bernardo Silva as a free agent, Real Madrid and their new manager, Jose Mourinho, are contemplating a move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Silva’s contract with Manchester City expires later this month, making him a free agent in July.
After striking an agreement with the Los Blancos, the Portugal international is prepared to sign with them instead of Barcelona. Silva and Real Madrid will complete the deal prior to Portugal’s World Cup opening match against DR Congo on Wednesday. However, The Athletic claims that Madrid had targeted Paris Saint-Germain midfielders Vitinha and Joao Neves to bolster their midfield, but have been told that the defending Champions League winners will not sell. The report further states that Mourinho and Madrid are now considering other options, and Fernandez is on the club’s shortlist alongside West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
