Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi, has flown into the UK to finalize his move to Arsenal.
The Athletic reports that Zubimendi is set to meet with club officials in London, to wrap up the transfer.
The 26-year-old has a £51million release clause in his contract, but the Gunners will pay a slightly higher fee, to enable them spread payment over several years.
Zubimendi is poised to be Mikel Arteta’s first summer signing.
Zubimendi, who came through Sociedad’s youth ranks, has made 236 appearances for the LaLiga club and netted 10 goals.
Last year, Liverpool showed serious interest in the Spaniard, but he opted to stay in his home country for another season.
This month, there were speculations about Real Madrid reaching out to the player’s representatives in an attempt to thwart Arsenal’s transfer.
