According to DAILY POST, William Troost-Ekong, a former captain of the Super Eagles, has been chosen as one of the draw helpers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification draw.

Three more legendary players from the continent—Max-Alain Gradel, Essam El Hadary, and Trésor Mputu—will join Troost-Ekong, who is considered one of the greatest defenders Africa has ever produced.

The draw ceremony will take place at the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) headquarters, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

It will be broadcast live on social media and CAF TV.

The qualifiers will be held in 48 nations, including the three co-hosts, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Twelve groups will be formed, and the top two from each pool will move on to the continental finals.

The dates of the AFCON 2027 finals are June 19–July 17, 2027.
