Turkey: Mustafa Denizli: Osimhen’s absence is hurting our league as a whole

Mustafa Denizli, a Turkish expert, has highlighted Victor Osimhen’s important influence on Galatasaray and the Turkish Super Lig.

Following surgery for an injury sustained during the first half of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield last month, the Nigerian international is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

Galatasaray has struggled to be consistent in his absence; they have only earned four points out of a possible nine and have lost two of their past three games

Even though they are still at the top of the table, Fenerbahce is now only two points behind them, and Trabzon is still within reach.

With five games left, the pressure on the defending champs is growing.

Denizli pointed out that Osimhen’s importance extends beyond his individual efforts, describing him as a player who improves his teammates’ performance.

He stated, “Osimhen is a crucial player not only for Galatasaray but for the entire league,” according to Habersarikirmizi. This cannot be exclusively attributed to his own performance.

“Those playing to his right, left, and behind him are negatively impacted by Osimhen’s absence.”

The medical staff at Galatasaray is working hard to make sure Osimhen gets well in time for the match against Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce on April 26, 2026, which might decide the team’s title.
