Two years ago, I made this coalition prediction. Baba-Ahmed Datti

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former running mate for the presidency of the Labour Party, has said that two years ago, he foresaw the current position that former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai is holding within the coalition.

Baba-Ahmed disclosed that he had predicted El-Rufai’s current position and had discussed it with Peter Obi, the previous presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

He revealed the information during his appearance on Thursday night’s Prime Time show on Arise Television.

Additionally, Baba-Ahmed declared that if the primary election is legitimate, he would back the coalition’s presidential candidate.

“I need to see a very clean and transparent primary taking place,” he stated. “I’m not sure if that will happen.” I work well in a team, yet ultimately, humans are limited in what they can accomplish.

As the 12th candidate in Port Harcourt, I credibly served as the PDP’s Director of Research and Strategy in 2018 and 2019.

“Because I didn’t want a presidential contest coming from the North in 2023, I thought of contesting the governorship until I saw the kind of primaries that were to be held and I pulled out, the next day Peter Obi pulled out of PDP.

“So if I’m in the coalition and a candidate emerges based on the kind of acceptable practices that should happen to me, I will readily work with that person and it doesn’t have to be Obi.

“By default, I’m with Peter Obi since we all chose to run again after he was with me in the Labour Party.

“I will provide him my support if he runs in coalition and wins. Obi is with me. Two years ago, two names. El-Rufai was moving in this direction, as I had predicted, and many of my accurate projections have come to pass.

“I’m saying that he would try to play the role that he is playing now by joining some kind of coalition.”
