Arne Slot will not be fired by Liverpool after their 2-0 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
The Reds want the Dutchman in place for the start of the upcoming season, according to the UK Metro.
After taking over for Jurgen Klopp in 2024, Slot guided Liverpool to the Premier League championship in his first season in England.
But Slot’s second season has been terrible; the team is now in fifth place, one point ahead of sixth-place Chelsea.
Liverpool are in danger of losing the Champions League because they need to erase a two-goal deficit against the current champions, making the trophy nearly mathematically impossible.
However, because of his close ties to former midfielder Xabi Alonso, senior officials are thinking about keeping him.
