Legends of Bayern Munich, Lothar Matthaus and Markus Babbel, have criticized Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior for his on-field theatrics ahead of their first-leg match in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Vinicius has frequently been criticized for his on-field theatrics, such as his dancing. Speaking on Sky90TheFootballDebate, Matthaus stated that the Brazilian international is continuously agitating, while Babbels claimed that he likes to roll in on the field fourteen times after he is fouled.
This has been going on for years, according to Matthaus (via Mundo Deportivo). Naturally, Vinicius is an excellent player, but he is also a frequent source of controversy.
“He just whines and complains when you finally tackle him properly on the field.”
Babbel stated, “I just don’t like it when I see how he plays football, the talent he has, and then I see him fall and roll around 14 times with every move.”
