Umar Sani of the PDP contends that Governor Mbah’s defection will not impact the party, stating that the Governor is “swimming against the tide” (moving in opposition to the prevailing popular direction).

Umar Sani, former Special Assistant on Media to ex-Vice President Namadi Sambo, asserted that the defection of Governor Peter Mbah to the APC “will not shake” the PDP, labeling the Governor’s move as “swimming against the tide.”

Speaking on Arise Television, the PDP chieftain rejected reports of an internal crisis, claiming the party’s challenges are an “induced crisis” originating “from outside the party” to create confusion, using internal instruments. He concluded that while the national level may have leadership issues, the PDP remains “firmly rooted in the states,” especially Enugu, where its dominance is “unshaken.”
