Alejandro Garnacho, Jorrel Hato, and Benoit Badiashiele have come under fire from former Manchester United defender Gary Neville following Chelsea’s 3-2 Premier League victory over West Ham United on Saturday. He said that those players had ‘very awful experiences’ when playing for Chelsea against West Ham on Saturday, adding that Garnacho’s confidence is ‘completely broken.’ After moving to Stamford Bridge from Manchester United last summer, 21-year-old Garnacho has participated in 26 games across all competitions and scored six goals.He started the game against the Hammers last weekend on the left wing. Garnacho had to be substituted at halftime while Chelsea was behind their London rivals 2-0, so it was a challenging day for him. At halfway, manager Liam Rosenior altered the team’s tactics, and they rallied to win 3-2. Neville believes that the team performed significantly better without Garnacho. Speaking on The Gary Neville podcast, the former Manchester United defender stated, “In the first half, West Ham were absolutely fantastic.They controlled the game, even though they didn’t have the ball much, they truly controlled the game. They were more physical, had the best opportunities, and Chelsea’s left side was in disarray. “Alejandro Garnacho is a player who people have different opinions about, I think, sometimes. Many people are asking, ‘Is he really top-class, or what’s his genuine level?In the hierarchy, where is he? A young player like that who recently joined Chelsea was difficult to watch yesterday night because he appeared to be very insecure on the left side.Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s initial reaction upon receiving the ball was to retreat, but he continued to retreat and give it away. I’m not only referring to the instances in which he continued to sprint forward. Hato, Garnacho, and Badiashiele all had a really painful and awful experience on that left side. The game drastically shifted once he made the adjustment.
