Victor Osimhen Donates ₦10 Million to Remo Stars for Their NPFL Championship Victory

Victor Osimhen, the striker for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has donated ten million naira to Remo Stars for winning their inaugural Nigeria Premier Football League title.
After their victory in the NPFL, Victor Osimhen contacted Remo Stars through a video call and offered a cash gift to the team—₦5 million for the players and another ₦5 million for the technical staff.

Furthermore, the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, recognized the milestone and characterized it as a groundbreaking achievement for the state.

He expressed through his media advisor, “I am pleased that the Remo Stars Football team’s steadfast perseverance and consistency have been acknowledged nationally, to the admiration of all Nigerians.”

Daniel Ogunmodede, the head coach of the club, disclosed this to Punch and emphasized the considerable positive reaction this win has generated across different sectors.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has released a statement congratulating the football club from Ogun State for its victory in Nigeria’s top league.

In the president’s words: “The momentous win, four years post the team’s elevation to the elite league, demonstrates the commitment of all those connected.

The Confederation of African Football commended Remo Stars’ win as a source of “immense pride” for the club and the southwest region, which had not seen a league champion since Julius Berger’s victory in 2000.

They conveyed their excitement for Remo Stars’ imminent involvement in the Champions League.
