“We Are Still Burying The Dead”: The Massacre at Kwara

In Woro community, Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, 13 more dead were buried Thursday as locals continued to retrieve corpses from bushes after the bandit raid. More than a hundred people, mostly men, were killed in the tragedy that happened on Tuesday. 0:00/03:11/10 seconds Residents and community leaders reported that while many people are still missing, 75 people were buried on Wednesday.According to locals, the death toll is still unknown and the hunt for victims is still ongoing. Families of women and children who were kidnapped during the attack reported that they had not received any communication on their loved ones. A secondary school in the village was the initial target of the coordinated attack by highly armed militants who arrived in huge numbers on motorbikes, according to Daily Trust. Mr. Ahmed Yinusa, a local, claimed that the criminals, who primarily wore military attire, ran their operations unopposed for more than ten hours.
