Zenith Bank Grows by a Subsidiary in Côte d’Ivoire

With the establishment of its Côte d’Ivoire subsidiary, Zenith Bank Plc has increased its footprint in the French-speaking region of West Africa.
This was a significant accomplishment in the Group’s Pan-African expansion plan, according to the bank.
According to a statement from the bank, senior government officials and regulators from Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, as well as leaders of continental businesses and members of the diplomatic community, are anticipated to attend the official opening ceremony on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The ceremony will highlight the strategic economic ties and investment opportunities between the two markets.Operating out of its offices at SCI Wall Street, Avenue Noguès, Plateau, Abidjan, the new subsidiary will be governed by the UMOA Banking Commission and granted a license by the Ministry of Finance and Budget, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, in December 2025.
Mr. Cédric Tano, an experienced banking executive with more than 20 years of experience, will serve as MD/CEO of the new subsidiary.
The bank claims that the launch is a calculated step toward strengthening financial intermediation within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and expanding the Bank’s presence in Francophone West Africa.Zenith Bank Côte d’Ivoire will concentrate on corporate banking, trade financing, local and offshore banking services, and structured financial solutions suited to companies operating throughout Africa and abroad. The bank is positioned as a gateway for cross-border commerce and investment.
