Zubairu aims for triumph in the Flying Eagles’ last group match at the 2025 U-20 AFCON

Aliyu Zubairu, the head coach of Flying Eagles, stated that his team will strive for victory against Kenya in their last Group B match at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

On Sunday night, the seven-time champions faced Morocco in their second group match at the June 30 Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, where they were held to a scoreless draw.

Nigeria is in second place in the group, having earned four points from two matches.

Zubairu’s team must defeat Kenya on Wednesday to guarantee their advancement to the quarter-final. Kenya is currently at the bottom of the group with no points. “We will approach the match against Kenya with a positive mindset,” he stated after the match. “They are a strong team, and we will show them great respect, despite their lack of points in this group so far. “Our focus will be entirely on securing three points.”
