Hajiya Amina Lawal Rafin-Dadi, a candidate for Katsina Central Senatorial District on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform in Katsina State, revealed that women have a lot to offer in politics but have not been given the chance.
According to her, women should have more opportunities to actively engage in politics as candidates and voters.
Speaking to reporters in Katsina, Rafin-Dadi stated that given their extensive knowledge of human development, women as carers should have received more attention in politics.
According to her, her campaign is solely an effort to improve the lives of women in the senatorial district by providing effective representation that will result in favourable policies for programmes aimed at empowering women.
It’s time to repay. I therefore think I have what it takes to rescue women from avoidable suffering as a woman with a wealth of experience. If elected, I would create a workable programme for women’s economic empowerment that would give women long-term empowerment,” she declared.
She clarified that women should be given sufficient consideration to equally participate in elective positions in order for the state and Nigeria as a whole to have a sustainable democracy.
