The government of Kano State has stated that it is willing to expand its collaboration with the European Union in fields that are vital to human growth, such as education and renewable energy.
This was said by Governor Abba Yusuf on Tuesday at Government House in Kano when he welcomed Mr. Gautier Mignot, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS.
Yusuf expressed gratitude to the EU for choosing Kano to host the inaugural Study in Europe Fair on the African continent, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa. He explained the gesture as an indication of the union’s faith in the state’s ability.
“We are hopeful that with greater cooperation, we can enhance our educational system and address the power supply issue to promote industrial growth and economic development,” the governor stated.
He urged the EU to assist in putting the state’s development plan into action, pointing out that his administration had made notable progress in a number of areas over the previous two years.
According to Mignot’s remarks, the visit was intended to investigate potential areas of cooperation with the state government, particularly in the fields of youth development, education, and the digital economy.
He went on to say that his group would tour some of the state’s ongoing and completed EU-funded digital economy projects and interact with pertinent parties on youth-focused programs.
