Former Celtic goalkeeper, Shay Given, has predicted that Manchester City might likely win the FIFA Club World Cup this year.
According to Given, City boss, Pep Guardiola will be keen on beating everyone in the competition, including his former player, Lionel Messi’s side, Inter Miami.
The former Manchester City goalkeeper pointed to the huge money prize involved as well as the bragging rights as some of the motivations for Man City
In a statement to talkSPORT, as cited by Goal, he said: “I believe Guardiola will view this as a chance to create some club history – being the first one to get that gold badge on their chest for the next four years. They will be world champions, and that’s a big statement. ”
He elucidated that Guardiola’s constant aim is to secure victory in every competition he participates in.
