In the Ife Federal Constituency, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has effectively settled internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in advance of the 2026 elections.
In a statement released Monday, his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed said that the reconciliation was reached during a high-level meeting that included key members of the ruling party.
According to Governor Adeleke, the previous rift was caused by misunderstandings and outside intervention.
He asked members to be on the lookout for attempts to split the party.
“I observed the Ile Ife PDP to be genuinely united throughout today’s meeting. I hear from all of the leaders here, and I can plainly see that there is a communication breakdown. Additionally, there are clear indications of an outside conspiracy to split the Ife PDP,” he said.
He urged party leaders to step up their mobilization efforts, emphasizing that his administration had already provided Ife land with substantial benefits and would do more.
The PDP controls Ile Ife. Return and keep up the pace. I applaud the party chiefs and operatives, the elected and local party chairmen, the senatorial leader, and the elders and leaders. “Go back and keep working for the party’s victory,” he continued.
The party’s State Chairman, Sunday Bisi, described the vote of no confidence that started the dispute as a “family affair.”
“Everyone has shown genuine affection for the party. We’re relieved that everything has been resolved.
“All statutory meetings for party mobilization should be rescheduled, and all party leaders and members should firmly disapprove of any action that could be construed as anti-party activity,” he informed the gathering.
Participants at the meeting proclaimed the dispute to be over, deciding to set aside differences and concentrate on winning the upcoming elections.
Along with State Party Chairman Sunday Bisi, Deputy Senate Minority Leader Senator Lere Oyewumi, and Secretary to the State Government Teslim Igbalaye, the Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi was present.
