Following coordinated air and ground operations in Niger State’s Magama Local Government Area, Nigerian troops have killed a number of bandits and retrieved stolen cattle.
Before making an attempt to flee toward Zamfara State, security sources reported that the armed groups had attacked villages near Atabo, Zoma, and nearby communities, rustling huge herds of cattle.
The bandits were targeted by Nigerian Armed Forces air assets, which led to the recovery of the stolen cattle and the deaths of multiple attackers.
Some of the remaining bandits reportedly tried to reorganize and mount a counteroffensive on Tuesday in an effort to recover the cattle that had been taken.
In a later operation, troops confronted them, killing a number of them and foiling their scheme.
