Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned President Tinubu against enacting the 5% fuel tax that his administration is demanding.
Primate Ayodele claimed in a statement signed by his media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, that enforcing it would harm Tinubu’s chances of winning a second term.
According to the prophet, the policy will be misunderstood and, if caution is not exercised, will be viewed as the elimination of subsidies, which will incite unfavorable sentiment against the government.Tinubu should thoroughly investigate the five percent fuel tax because it will be misunderstood and will hurt his chances of winning a second term. He pointed out that some governors will oppose it because the long-term benefits will be lopsided and that the opposition will use it to campaign against him.
It will be used in their anti-he campaign. Over time, the policy will be biased, and some governors will oppose it. In addition, he suggested that Tinubu reduce taxation policies because of the present state of the economy, stating that it is becoming excessive. Tinubu should not allow it to be like the days of subsidy removal; he needs to work on taxation because it is getting out of control.
