Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has secured yet another historic milestone as Guinness World Records, GWR, has officially recognised her for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
The largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice was prepared by famous chef Hilda Baci, who has achieved yet another historic milestone by being officially recognized by Guinness World Records, or GWR.
Guinness World Records declared in a post on its official X account: “Hilda Baci and Gino set a new record when they served the largest portion of Nigerian-style jollof rice at Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria, weighing 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz).” They wrote.
The accomplishment followed a lavish culinary show at the Eko Hotels & Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos on September 12, 2025. The occasion, which Hilda Baci dubbed the “Gino World Jollof Festival,” attracted thousands of people and created a lot of talk on social media.
As one of Nigeria’s most renowned cooks, Hilda Baci initially gained international recognition in 2023 when she broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. Celebrities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, and Pastor Idowu attended the Lagos event.
The chef’s current attempt to beat the record was also supported by Bamidele Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State’s wife.
