Aloy Ejimakor, the Consultant for IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, called upon Igbo leaders to visit Kanu at the Sokoto Custodial Centre, where he is serving a life sentence for terrorism charges. Ejimakor urged them to follow the example of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, who visited the Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho in the Benin Republic without fearing the former President Muhammadu Buhari. Posting on X, Ejimakor asserted that visiting Kanu is a just and urgent cause, similar to the support shown for Igboho. Kanu was recently convicted by Justice James Omotosho of an Abuja Federal High Court and ordered to be imprisoned in Sokoto. Currently, only Abia State Governor Alex Otti has reportedly visited him there.
