Armed bandits reportedly abducted two individuals, Mallam Garba and his son, Bala, residents of Ungwan Kambari Ologede in the Idofin Odo-Ashe jurisdiction of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at about 18:00 hours while the two were on their way back from the farm, in an area close to the Babanla military base. Security sources indicate that the son, Bala, managed to escape the attack, but the father, Mallam Garba, was taken away by the bandits.
In a related incident, a group transporting a snake bite patient for treatment was also attacked by bandits but successfully escaped.
A security report suggests that the bandits have since regrouped in a place called Sabon Gari on Ahun land in the Ifelodun local government. Furthermore, they were reportedly seen two days ago with almost three hundred motorcycles heading towards Eruku in Ekiti local government.
