The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with a case involving cattle rustling and inflicting serious physical injury in the Okeigbo region. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, reported that the arrests were made following a complaint from a man identified as Abdullahi, who claimed that armed individuals had invaded his ranch in a raid and stolen his cattle. When Abdullahi attempted to intervene, the suspects allegedly attacked him and his son using machetes. Ayanlade stated that upon receiving the complaint, police operatives immediately initiated an operation guided by intelligence, utilizing modern technology to locate and detain the suspects. He confirmed that the police successfully recovered the stolen cattle, the vehicle used by the attackers, the complainant’s stolen motorcycle, and the weapons utilized during the assault. The State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, commended the rapid action taken by the involved officers and reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout and after the festive season. Ayanlade noted that Commissioner Lawal has directed all Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to maintain vigilance, thereby ensuring comprehensive security coverage in all areas. Residents of the state were strongly advised to remain alert, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report any suspicious activities to improve communal safety.
