Troops from Operation Fansan Yamma Strike have successfully eliminated no fewer than eleven terrorists who were responsible for causing chaos in Sokoto and other states within the North West region. A statement released on the official Facebook page of the Nigerian Army Headquarters confirmed that this strategic and daring operation took place near Kurawa Village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The statement detailed that the operation effectively thwarted a planned attack on Tara Village, an area designated as critical for the movement of terrorist and bandit elements. The strike team acted upon precise and reliable intelligence to execute a well-coordinated ambush, engaging the bandits in a fierce confrontation. This operation resulted in the neutralization of eleven bandits, while an unspecified number of others managed to escape with gunshot wounds. The Nigerian Army also disclosed that the troops successfully recovered several dangerous items from the terrorists, including eight AK-47 rifles, five extra magazines, and twenty-six rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
