The reasons behind Kaduna’s superior ease of doing business ranking: Commissioner

In a press briefing on Friday, Kaduna State Commissioner of Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs. Patience Fakai, attributed the state’s rise as a premier investment destination to Governor Uba Sani’s infrastructure and land reforms. Recent rankings by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) placed Kaduna second nationally and first in Northern Nigeria, a significant jump from its 8th-place position in 2023. This improvement is credited to the governor’s focus on private-sector growth, digital service adoption, and the streamlining of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA) to eliminate bureaucratic delays.
The Commissioner noted that these business-friendly policies helped increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue from N62 billion in 2023 to over N71 billion in 2025. With national tax reforms underway, revenue is expected to double by 2026. Mrs. Fakai expressed confidence that the ongoing efforts to improve regulatory transparency and lower operational costs will secure Kaduna the top spot in the Ease of Doing Business ranking by 2027.
