The Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) new acting general secretary, Samson Adamu, has stated that he is committed to leaving his mark as the game’s top operating officer on the African continent.
On Sunday, April 29, 2026, the CAF’s executive committee in Cairo, Egypt, approved Adamu’s nomination.
Veron Mosengo-Omba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is replaced by the youthful football administrator.
In the 69-year history of the African football regulatory body, he is the first Nigerian and West African to hold the most prominent position in the sport.
Adamu promised to serve with humility and professionalism.
