According to guidelines released by Ireland’s Immigration Service Delivery, foreign students who intend to study in Ireland for more than three months must first secure a long-term study visa.
The immigration authority stated that non-European Economic Area citizens who plan to enroll in courses longer than ninety days must apply for the visa from their home country or a place where they are legally residing, as reported by the Economic Times on Tuesday.
Up to three months before to the planned departure date, applications may be filed. The first step in the application process is to fill out an online form using Ireland’s Automated Visa Application and Tracking System.
After that, applicants must print, sign, and date the application summary form, pay the necessary visa fee if necessary, and send in any supporting documentation.A valid passport, passport-sized photos, evidence of private health insurance, an application letter, and a letter of acceptance from the school are among the necessary documents. Additionally, ISD stated that students must present documents proving they have enough money to support themselves throughout their stay, academic credentials, proof of language competency when needed, and proof of tuition price payment.
Applicants must reveal any prior visa denials, according to the ISD. Additional documentation, such as parental approval and accommodation arrangements, may be needed from students under the age of eighteen.
Authorities cautioned that incomplete applications might be rejected, and that giving incorrect or misleading information might lead to a visa denial and even a five-year restriction on obtaining an Irish visa.Before making a judgment, immigration authorities may ask for more information. Applications are processed in the order that they are received. It has been recommended that students wait to book travel until their visa application has been granted.
Additionally, the ISD emphasized that having a valid visa does not ensure entrance into Ireland. Students may be required to provide documentation they submitted throughout the application process and must convince immigration officials that they meet all entrance requirements upon arrival.
Although authorization to stay in Ireland may be extended, the authority stated that such requests must be made prior to the expiration of current license and are only granted in rare and extraordinary cases.
To prevent delays or rejections, the ISD advised potential students to thoroughly prepare their applications and make sure all information is correct and comprehensive.
