Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, a well-known gospel film producer and the founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, has backed Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in response to conflicting opinions over the cleric’s comments regarding the country’s security issues.
On Tuesday, Adeboye sparked a public discussion by posting a video in which he called on the federal government to give service chiefs a 90-day deadline to either end terrorism or step down.
According to PUNCH, he reshared the video, which was first posted in November 2025, in response to claims that he had advocated for a political party or government and demanded that a scheduled demonstration against insecurity be canceled. On Wednesday, he responded on his own Instagram site. Bamiloye emphasized that Adeboye has continuously spoken out against societal problems and criticized bloggers and opponents for misrepresenting the cleric’s position.Additionally, he rejected the notion that the 84-year-old minister would spearhead protests in the streets.
“This is what he said, many bloggers saw this, but they would project it,” Bamiloye wrote. However, he spoke out against the atrocities.Furthermore, given his age and the requirements of his calling, it is absurd for anyone to expect an 84-year-old man who serves God to spearhead a protest against a government.
Bamiloye clarified that the 2020 event in which Adeboye marched on the streets during the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari was not an isolated personal political stunt but rather a coordinated institutional response in response to historical comparisons made by critics.
“And for everyone who claimed that he led a protest, the CAN and PFN had instructed every church to organize a demonstration against the nation’s insecurity. He followed their instructions and led his denomination as well, just like some other churches did.
“As the Church of God, our primary duty is to consistently pray for the nation’s peace and God’s intervention in the government,” he said.
In a statement on Tuesday, the RCCG Public Relations team also emphasized that a widely shared image of Adeboye with a sign was from a nonviolent prayer walk during the Muhammadu Buhari government in 2020 rather than a political protest against former President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to PUNCH, the church also reaffirmed Adeboye’s neutral political position, urging members of all political parties to carry out their civic duties without institutional support for any one party.
