Yusuf Danbatta, a Kano PDP candidate for deputy governor, switches to the APC

Dr. Yusuf Bello Danbatta, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 deputy governorship candidate, left the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Citing extensive consultations and a desire to more effectively contribute to the development of Kano State and Nigeria, he formally announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He signed a statement and gave it to reporters. He claimed that extensive consultations with political leaders, associates, supporters, and other stakeholders preceded the decision.

He pointed out that the APC provides a better platform for him to promote the people’s interests and assist projects meant to enhance development and governance.

The former deputy governorship candidate clarified that the Kano State Government’s developmental agenda and leadership style under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had a significant impact on his choice.

He characterised the Kano First Agenda as a transformative blueprint that has shown a strong commitment to infrastructure renewal, human capital development, good governance, and the state’s overall advancement.

Regardless of political affiliation, he reiterated his steadfast dedication to public service and promised to keep working for the unification and advancement of the people.

The former candidate for deputy governor urged his friends and supporters to work with him to support initiatives aimed at Kano State’s ongoing development, stability, and growth.
