Four people are detained by police in Anambra for murder and child abuse.

Four people have been detained by the Anambra State Police Command on suspicion of murder and child abuse in different incidences that occurred throughout the state.

Following popular videos and reliable information from worried citizens, the suspects were taken into custody.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command’s spokesperson, revealed this in a press release on Monday.

According to Ikenga, the command has detained four individuals connected to the crime after intercepting a widely shared video showing the exhumation of a corpse in Nkpor and a 10-year-old boy who had numerous severe injuries all over his body.

“The Anambra State Police Command commends residents of the State for their vigilance, cooperation, and timely provision of information that continues to aid Police and other security agencies in exposing criminal activities and apprehending offenders,” the statement said.

“The Command has detained four individuals who are being investigated in connection with the offenses in two distinct unsettling instances that have gone viral on social media: the exhumation of a corpse in Nkpor and a 10-year-old youngster who was severely injured all over his body.

Ifechukwu Okechukwu ‘M,’ a 33-year-old man, is the first suspect in detention. He is being investigated for the suspected murder and covert burial of his 23-year-old fiancée.
