The allegations of match fixing made against the club by a presenter have been refuted by the management of Shooting Stars.
It is alleged that the presenter of a sports program on an Ibadan radio station stated that Shooting Stars intentionally gave up a two-goal lead against Katsina United and sold out the South West derby against Remo Stars, which they lost 1-0.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Oluyole Warriors expressed disapproval of what they described as groundless and unfounded accusations against the club.
As a result, we must respond quickly to these unfounded, savage, and groundless accusations.
“We completely disapproved of the presenter’s unprofessional outburst, which referenced the matches, our players, and other individuals he labeled as culprits.
“It is important for us to emphasize that no one from the club has given an interview to the radio station. As such, we are puzzled as to how the presenter arrived at his claims that our Chairman, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan ‘Akoro’, offered money to match officials during some of our matches.”
