To bring peace and harmony back between the parties, farmers and herders in six rural communities in the Bokkos and Riyom local government regions have signed 25 peace agreements. Men and women who work as farmers and herders are chosen from the Sha, Bum, and Sopp groups in Bokkos and Riyom, where numerous people have been killed and property damaged in various wars.Following a series of engagements by the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) to foster social cohesion in rural communities afflicted by conflict and to find solutions to the violence that has historically plagued these areas, the agreements were signed.Considering the difficulties they have encountered, Lazaros David, a participant and senior district head from Bokkos LGA, characterized the peace process as essential.
