Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has reaffirmed his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party, stating he has no plans to defect despite the recent wave of departures from the opposition group. Speaking during a meeting with the party’s National Working Committee led by Kabiru Turaki, Moro emphasized that his commitment is based on principle rather than political desperation or electoral gain for the 2027 cycle. He characterized the party as the most credible vehicle for democracy in Nigeria and called upon the new leadership to prioritize unity and internal cohesion following the national convention. In response, Turaki praised Moro’s steadfastness and outlined the party’s broader mission to protect multiparty democracy, while Board of Trustees Chairman Adolphus Wabara expressed confidence in the current restructuring efforts and stressed the importance of reconciliation to restore faith in the organization across the country.
