All mechanics and auto spare parts dealers operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road in Aba North, Aba South, and Obingwa LGAs of Abia State have been directed to relocate to the Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill.
The Commissioner for Industry and SME, Mike Akpara, stated that the relocation must be completed by October 15, 2025, and urged traders to comply, noting that enforcement would begin after the deadline.
He added that the one-year grace period previously granted to traders, which ended in May 2025, has elapsed. The relocation is intended to decongest Aba metropolis and create a safer, more organized, and business-friendly environment.
“Dealers are strongly advised to comply before the deadline, as enforcement will commence thereafter,” Akpara emphasized.
