Victor Boniface, a Nigerian striker on loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen, says his main goal this season is to avoid injuries while trying to regain his best form. The 24-year-old forward has had difficulty settling into his new environment since joining Bremen on the day of the transfer deadline. Even though Boniface had a great beginning at Leverkusen in Germany, his development has been hindered by recurring injuries. He contributed significantly to Leverkusen’s first-ever league title with an undefeated record in the 2023–24 Bundesliga season, scoring 14 goals and dishing out eight assists in 24 games. However, since then, his influence has been constrained by fitness issues. “I want to play the whole season without getting hurt,” Boniface stated to SABC Sports. “I simply want to contribute to the team in any way I can, whether it be through goal scoring, assisting, or putting in a lot of effort.”
