Prior to Senator Rashidi Ladoja, the former governor, being crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Oyo State Government has announced the temporary closure of several important Ibadan roads. One day after Ladoja’s 81st birthday, on Friday, September 26, 2025, the historic ceremony is set to take place at Mapo Hall.
The organising committee said in a statement released on Tuesday that the following routes would be affected by the closures, which would start at 7:00 a.m.: Beere Junction inward Mapo Hall, Born Photo Junction inward Oja’ba, Idi-Arere Junction inward Oja’ba, and Itamerin Junction inward to Mapo Hall.
The committee clarified that the high-profile nature of the event—which is anticipated to be attended by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State—made the measures necessary.
The government set aside three official parking lots for invited guests in order to reduce traffic:
The Ibadan North LGA Parking Lot, located in front of the Agodi Immigration Office
The Yemetu Police Station’s football field next to it
Oke Ado’s Liberty Stadium
Guests with valid entry passes can be transported to Mapo Hall via shuttle buses. In order to guarantee seamless logistics, vendors have been told to arrive between 6:00 and 6:45 a.m. The committee also made it clear that the coronation site will only be open to the president’s and governor’s official convoys.
