Senate President Godswill Akpabio called the passing of Barrister Segun Awolowo Jnr. a significant loss for the Yoruba people and Nigeria.
Akpabio stated that Segun Awolowo, a brilliant lawyer, motivated many Nigerians to achieve more.
Reacting to the death of Obafemi Awolowo’s grandson, Akpabio expressed shock in a statement released by his media assistant, Jackson Udom, adding that he cannot question the Creator’s timing.
He offered his condolences to the Awolowo family, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the people of Ogun State, calling the loss irreplaceable and a major national loss. His thoughts are with Segun’s wife and children.
Akpabio affirmed that Segun’s legacy as a brilliant lawyer, devoted family man, and compassionate person will remain an inspiration, and his societal and legal contributions will be remembered.
On behalf of his senatorial district and the 10th Senate, he prayed for Segun’s soul to rest in peace and for his family and loved ones to find strength and the fortitude to bear the loss.
